On March 12, 2015 CBC Calgary put out the call for Calgarians to document their day through photographs and video clips all under the hashtag #dayinthelifeyyc. As planners, designers, architects and Calgarians ourselves, what better way to design for the people through understanding the people. For only one day, we can experience Calgary through the eyes of complete strangers allowing us to view our city in a new light.

From the north-west to the south-east and the north-east to the south-west, from morning till night, during work or free time, tons of Calgarians took a moment or a second out of their day to become part of the discussion.

MakeCalgary previously discussed “The Digital Enviromnent: The Day in the life of a Student,” which can be found by clicking the link, is a supplementary article about the daily routine of architectural students. Students whom are aiming to understand the city and its characteristics and identity.

If you missed the event or didn’t hear about it, click on any of these links below which will lead you to the outpouring of images sent to support the event. As well the images seen below are snapshots from the day itself.
